General Safety Rules

1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

4. Never use alcohol or over-the-counter, prescription or other drugs before or while shooting.

5. All firearms must be handled in a safe manner at all times.

6. All firearms shall be unloaded and carried with the action open while entering or leaving the shooting range.

7. Obey all range officer commands promptly.

8. In the event of a firearm malfunction or hang fire, keep the firearm pointed down range, and count 10 seconds before you clear your firearm.

9. No sighting or pointing of a firearm behind the shooting stations.

10. Upon command of “cease fire” all firearms will be unloaded immediately, actions left open, with muzzle pointed down range.

11. Guns and ammunition are subject to inspection. No armor piercing ammo permitted.

12. Each shooter must pick up his/her own brass or hulls.

13. Shooters are responsible for wearing appropriate hearing and eye protection.

14. Decision of the range officer is final.

Any infraction of the above rules will result in the loss of shooting range privileges. We want to run a safe shooting range at all times. When in doubt, check with the range officer.


CLUBHOUSE


The United Sportsmens Club has 119.6 acres of land located on Sportsman's Club Rd. The Club House has a Kitchen, Bar, Meeting Room and Indoor Shooting Range. The Storage Barn has the grounds keeping equipment and clays. Outdoor facilities include: 100 yard Rifle Range, Pistol Range, 2 Trap Stands, 1 Skeet, 5 Stand Clays, and a 10 station Sporting Clays Course.

INDOOR ARCHERY & PISTOL


USI has an Indoor Range in the basement of the clubhouse for use under a general membership.


 Please be respectful and if someone else would like to use the range please limit your time to 1/2 hour. The range is reserved for league shoots during the winter and may be closed during special meetings and events. 


When shooting pistols please turn on the air scrubbers and turn on the air exchanging system located on the East wall. Last person remaining must shut them off. Brooms and dustpans are also located on this wall for brass clean-up.


Range is limited to .45ACP or smaller, and NO Magnums.


Archery target stands are located in the far-East corner of the range. Please return equipment prior to leaving.


The door to the stairway should be locked while the range is in use.

A range fee of $2.00 is required to be placed in the fee box in the range, located on the West wall.

Outdoor Rifle Range


USI has a 100 yard rifle range located behind the club house. The rifle range has a cover shooting area. There are target stands set up at 100 yards, 75 yards, 50 yards and 25 yards. The rifle range is open for all club members to use. Please be respectful of our neighbors and don't use it before 8AM or after 8PM.


The Rifle range is closed when the trap range is in use.


No cross-range shooting. All firing must be parallel to length of range.


A range fee of $2.00 is required to be placed in the fee box on the range.


OUTDOOR PISTOL RANGE


USI has one Outdoor Pistol Range located behind the house. There are pre-staged steel targets and a target stand for use. You can set your own distance up to 50 feet. Targets not included. 


Do not use any of the barriers for target holders. 


Range is limited to .45ACP or smaller, and NO Magnums. No rifle cartridges are allowed in any firearm.


No shooting from behind the yellow safety chain.


A range fee of $2.00 is required to be placed in the fee box on the range, located on the center post just inside the range.

Skeet Field


Load the firearm only at the shooting station.


Trap House


The rifle range has to be closed when in use.

Sporting Clays Range & Equipment Garage


Load the firearm only at the shooting station. 


MEETING ROOM


The meeting room is a full-sized banquet hall with a capacity of 225 people. 


This room is utilized for directors' meetings and other approved events.  


The room has direct access to the patio area between the trap and rifle ranges, basement access to the indoor range, and the kitchen. 

BAR


The Bar is open Tuesdays and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings through lunch.


A good selection of beer, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages are available. 


Must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol.
